If you pop for a room with a view at this gracious hotel, you will not be disappointed. A splendid vista from the Louvre to the Tuilleries gardens and the Eiffel Tower spreads before you as you loll in your bed. While not every room has the jackpot view, most in the “deluxe” and “executive” categories do, and all have a subdued, sophisticated decor with elegant fabrics draping the windows, and tasteful decorative touches. Top notch-bedding, plush bathrobes and high thread counts are all part of the package. In short, this classy establishment belongs under the arcades of the rue de Rivoli, and if it is not quite as grand as its neighbor the Meurice (where you’ll get a 20% discount at the spa), it is also about one-third the price. Rooms are spacious and airy, with a mix of reproduction and real antiques and roomy bathrooms. Understandably, rooms with views book up early.
