Transportation from Ciro, Italy

by Bobbie »

i am helping a friend plan a trip to the towns and villages of her grandparents and parents. She would like to base in Ciro and visit Crucoli, Casabono, and Scala Coeli. Is this possible by public transportation?  What about hiring a driver?  Can anyone recommend a service?  Car rental is not her first choice but will if she has to. If she does, what are the roads like and what are the driving conditions. She speaks Italian.

Thank you

I better add:  Some roads to more remote towns might be 1 or 1-1/2 lanes.  But I've driven roads like that in both Spain and Italy and never had a problem as there is very little traffic. There will be wide spots in the road or turnoffs here and there in case she encounters another car.

Go onto google maps. You can put the little man on the roads and see exactly what they are like.

I took a quick look at a couple of the roads, and they are curvy, but they are two-lane and looked OK to me.
